American Roulette
Roulette may seem complicated at first but it wont take you long to realize roulette is a simple, exciting and interesting game. There are two variations of roulette American Roulette and European Roulette. For this article we will be focusing on American Roulette.
American Roulette: Inside Bets
The roulette table consists of two parts, the Inside and the Outside.
When placing a bet on the inside, the player is required to make bets that will at least add up to the table minimum. The table is comprised of colored squares that re marked with red and black, ranging from 1 to 36. Zero and double zero are another two green squares of the inside table.
There are different combinations of bets on the inside table. These combinations are only valid within the inner table:
Straight up Bet a bet on a single number. Payoff 35 to 1.
Split Bet allows you to place a bet on two adjacent squares. Payoff 17 to 1.
Street Bet allows you to bet on a row (three numbers). Your chip must be placed on the outer edge of the row. Payoff 11 to 1.
Line Bet allows you to place two street bets (6 numbers). Payoff 5 to 1.
Corner Bet is when you place your bet on 4 adjacent squares. Payoff 8 to 1.
Five Bet is a special bet that allows the player to bet on 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3.You can do this by placing your chip on the boundary line of the roulette table where the line dividing the two rows intersects. Payoff 6 to 1. * This bet is specific to American Roulette games.
American Roulette: Outside Bets
When betting on the outside, every bet must match the table minimum. Outside bets do not cover zeros. Outside bets have a number of different betting conditions:
High and Low two squares for the bottom half of the numbers (1 to 18 and 19 to 35). Even bet, Payoff 1 to 1.
Dozens three squares that represent outcomes from 1 to 12, 13 to 24 and 25 to 36. Double bet, Payoff 2 to 1.
Colors two squares for red and black outcomes. Even bet.
Odd & Even two squares representing odd and even outcomes. Even bet.
Columns three squares that attach to the bottom of the inside table. Columns usually have 2:1 written inside the square. With these squares you can bet on an entire column of numbers. Double bet.
